INTRODUCING OUR NEWSPAPER WRITER (ORAINA ALI/ Dhaka, BANGLADESH) OF INSPIRE YOUTH JOURNAL

INSPIRE YOUTH JOURNAL–a Global Platform for Youth Journalism–is a student-led monthly newspaper in Vietnam founded and developed by Vietnam Public Forum Academy and Inspire Youth Debate for youth in Vietnam and all over the world who wish to stay informed about the latest news and learn about current global issues.

Our newspaper is international, with 60+ writers from 30+ countries such as the United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam, India, Turkey, Taiwan, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Qatar, Brazil, South Korea, Kenya, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Spain, France, Japan, Canada, Peru, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Cambodia, Indonesia, Tanzania, Poland, Ghana, Uganda, etc, over thirty of whom have been shortlisted and awarded higher prizes for one of the most prestigious essay competitions, the John Locke Institute’s 2024 and 2023 Global Essay Prize, and other distinguished essay competitions.

We aim to help young people become equipped with necessary knowledge and learn more about the world with a variety of relevant topics each month.

On this occasion, IYJ would like to introduce Oraina Ali/ Dhaka, Bangladesh as our newest writer:

“Hey, I’m Oraina! I’m a passionate advocate for youth leadership and environmental change, and the founder of a youth-led social organization named Seven Steps Ahead, focused on driving positive impact. It excites me to see how young people like myself are stepping up to address global issues such as climate change, economic inequalities, and social justice. I believe that through innovation, education, and activism, we can create a more sustainable and equitable world,” said Oraina.

              •            The Daily Star Award (2023).

              •            Pearson’s High Achievers Award (June 2022) with 8 A*

              •            Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award 2022

              •            Best Delegate Award at IIMUN 2020

              •            1st place in poomsae and 3rd place in weight at BTF Sultana Kamal Taekwondo Championship 2019

              •            Gold in the Commonwealth Essay Competition 2018 and Silver 2022

              •            1st place in Junior Category Poomsae at a Taekwondo competition 2018

              •            High Distinction in English from UNSW Global Australia.

              •            Geo Genius Winner in Junior Category.
