The Summer Workshop “Mastering the Art of Persuasion through a Live Debate,” which took place on June 8th and was organized by the Vietnam Public Forum Academy and Inspire Youth Debate, left a lasting impression. The participation of nearly 100 students from Vietnam and other countries such as the United States, Canada, and China underscores the diverse and international nature of the event. Notably, the presence of participants with championship titles, runner-up awards, and significant standings in various national and international tournaments, along with individuals in the Top 22 of the Vietnam Public Forum’s National Talented Youth Team, speaks to the caliber of attendees and the distinct value of the workshop.
The friendly yet competitive Public Forum debate match between Coaches (Apolline & Anson vs Sam Nguyen & Phuong Quach), who have achieved awards from prestigious debate competitions including Harvard and others hosted by the U.S.’ NSDA, must have provided a truly insightful and memorable experience. The participation of these accomplished Coaches has brought forth a wealth of creative and intriguing approaches, as well as the sharing of effective debate strategies. Witnessing such high-level discourse is undoubtedly valuable for everyone involved, providing an opportunity for learning and growth in the realm of debate.
It sounds like the sharing from our speaker Quynh Anh (Elsa) about the art of persuasion was an enriching experience for all participants. The combination of an international debate and insights from Elsa, along with the interactive session of answering audience questions, facilitated deep learning and knowledge exchange for all participants. Indeed, mastering the art of persuasion and applying debate strategies in real-life scenarios is a challenging endeavor, and having the opportunity to witness practical applications and gain insights from people with such experience can greatly contribute to skill development in this field.
