“Hiii! I’m Thao Nhi, I’m a 15-year-old writer, currently studying at Nguyen Trai specialized high school for seniors in Hai Phong city, Vietnam.

 

Ever since I was young, I’ve had a deep love for books. I was fascinated by the fact that someone who doesn’t even know me at all can write something that can resonate with me so well. That love for reading inspired me to start writing pieces of my own.

 

At first, it was just jotting down thoughts or reflections after finishing a book. But over time, writing became more than just a hobby, more like a safe haven, a place for me to untangle my intrusive thoughts, to voice my opinions loud and clear. Through writing, I’ve come to understand myself better and others as well.

 

I chose IYJ because I love being part of a community of young people choosing writing to encourage, inspire one another. I’ve read such amazing articles here that has challenged my perspectives and surprised me. I hope to bring my own voice to such a wonderful community,” said Thao Nhi.

– First prize in the competition for excellent students at the provincial level for grade 9.

– Gold medal in the IOE online English competition at the national level for grade 9

– First prize in the English poinsettia competition at the national level.
