Jeanic Polius is the Junior Minister of Tourism for Saint Lucia (2025–2026) (https://www.govt.lc/news/new-junior-minister-for-tourism-awarded) and an accomplished student leader, researcher, entrepreneur, and writer whose work spans youth advocacy, cultural preservation, and public policy. She has recently emerged a Regional Winner at the Harvard Crimson Global Essay Competition, recognized for her compelling journalistic piece on how young people are reshaping the Caribbean tourism industry.
A dedicated scholar, Jeanic earned 3rd place at the UWI Child Research Conference for her research paper, “Progress in Children’s Rights in Saint Lucia, 35 Years After the Adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.” She also graduated as Valedictorian of the St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School Class of 2025, highlighting her academic excellence and leadership.
Beyond her academic and public service achievements, Jeanic is the founder of Island Essence, a cultural candle brand that celebrates Saint Lucian identity through locally inspired scents and storytelling. Her entrepreneurial work reflects her passion for sustainable, culturally rooted innovation.
Driven, articulate, and committed to elevating Caribbean youth perspectives on global platforms, Jeanic continues to champion leadership, creativity, and social transformation through her writing, research, and national representation.
