We would like to share his brief introduction: Bankole Wright is an Edward Bouchet Scholar currently ABD in his doctoral program in Sociocultural Anthropology at Florida International University, USA. Bankole’s research ambition lies in the study of spaces, identities, and social worlds that occupy the liminal boundaries of formality and informality, with particular attention to how people create meaning, negotiate power, and produce everyday urban life in African cities. His work explores the intersections of infrastructure, performance, mobility, gender, and governance, examining how marginalized urban actors transform streets and transport spaces into sites of cultural production, social belonging, and political engagement.
