Varnessa Kayen Varlyngton is a Gen Alpha Leader,Artivist and award winning writer and author from Rivers State, Nigeria dedicated to raising awareness about climate change and other forms of environmental degradation since the age of 8. She is the first Nigerian and Youngest Ever to be honored as a United Nations Climate Change Learn Champion and was a recent speaker at COP 16 held in Cali, Columbia. She serves as the founder and executive director of Egalitarianism For Earth and also a councilor at the Global Youth Council for science,law and sustainability.
Apart from her advocacy,Varnessa is one of the youngest researchers in Nigeria as well as the first Nigerian to receive the Liu Lanyin Scholarship making her the first Youngest research scholar at the prestigious Girls In Research. With a keen eye on innovative solutions, she aims to bridge health care disparities as a Young Global Health Representative Ambassador In Nigeria and Bio-In-Med Initiative Led. Due to her work in research, science, healthcare and advocacy last year she won the YSA Global Impact Awards For Science and Sustainability.
