RELEASING INSPIRE YOUTH JOURNAL’S JULY ISSUE!

Welcome to the sixth edition of Inspire Youth Journal! This month we have new articles by Emma Lin and Helen Anderson for all public forum debaters to get caught up on the most recent topics.

The first topic that our journal is delving into is (1) inflation and deflation post-COVID, and the second is (2) the benefits of handwriting in a digital world. Inflation and deflation are both economic cycles that have been affecting millions of people worldwide for the past few years, and learning how these processes work help us to find adequate and effective solutions. While typing is convenient and fast, research suggests that handwriting stimulates a wider area of the brain, helping to improve memory, cognitive function, and motor skills, especially in young children.

Through this month’s publication, our journal aims to equip debaters with the knowledge to navigate a wider range of topics often prevalent in public forum debate. By understanding inflation and deflation, debaters can start to branch out to discuss macro-economic policies in their arguments, which can make one’s reasoning more nuanced. We also hope that you enjoy our new addition of a crossword puzzle, utilising key words from each article.
