RELEASING INSPIRE YOUTH JOURNAL’S MAY ISSUE!

Debaters, get ready to dive into a series of new, hot-button topics this April with the arrival of Inspire Youth Journal’s fourth edition! For this month, our journal aims to tackle two main multifaceted topics in an argumentative and bifurcated way as for both there is a clear striking affirmative and negative side for each subject.
The first article will discuss the core, moral and ethical arguments for Pro-Life and Pro-Choice as well as the nuances of each, as one side would emphasise the sanctity of life and the rights of the unborn, while the other supports women’s bodily autonomy, health, and own safety with birth. It also touches on the specificities of each with gray areas and in-betweens, including exceptions such as sexual assaults and conditions of a mother post-partum, as well as the idea that women may seek ill-performed abortions with abortion bans.
The second article unpacks the free trade deal between the European Union and the South American trade bloc Mercado Común del Sur (Mercosur). Arguments for both sides split directly between the supportive and opposition side, with one highlighting economic growth while the latter raising concerns including environmental damage and inequalities between agribusiness and medium enterprises.
These topics are immensely beneficial to young debaters as they are not only relevant but are imperative in the current status quo, with both having contentious and polarising arguments. It is crucial for a debater and orator to be well-informed and aware of these topics to formulate good and effective arguments.
